Storm chaser
An out-of-area contractor who arrives after a hailstorm, canvasses door to door offering free inspections, and is gone before any workmanship warranty could be claimed.

The pitch usually includes a contingency agreement signed on the doorstep, a claim filed on your behalf, and an offer to handle the deductible. Read what the contingency agreement commits you to before signing anything, and never sign before your own adjuster has been out.
